To battle Titan, reach level 34 and complete the main story line up to the quest "Lord of Crags."

The main challenge from Titan will be dodging every single Landslide. Each player will need to focus on dodging, as getting hit by a single landslide will blast that player off the platform to their death. As long as you can avoid Landslide, the rest of the fight should be fairly simple.

Phase 1

  • One player should stand on each side of him so only one person has to dodge each Landslide.
  • Dodge Landslide every single time. No exceptions.
  • When Titan jumps into the air, move close to the outer edge of the platform without being in the red ground indicator. The ground in the red will break off when he lands.

Phase 2

  • Continue dodging Landslide.
  • Quickly DPS the Granite Gaol to free the trapped player.

Phase 3

  • Stay spread out, one person on each side of Titan.
  • Never be stacked up and try to move out of Weight of the Land as quickly as possible.

Boss Abilities:

Phase 1 - Titan's Abilities:

  • Tumult - (Instant) An area-wide AoE which deals ~150 damage to each party member.
  • Rock Buster - (Instant) A melee strike used on Titan's target, dealing ~450 damage.
  • Geocrush - Titan will jump high in the area, placing a ground indicator around the platform. A few seconds later, he will come crashing down, dealing more damage the closer the player is to the middle of the platform.
  • Landslide - Targets a random player with a frontal column. Any player in the column after a few seconds will take heavy damage and be knocked back.

I recommend tanking Titan in the middle of the room, with one person on each side of him. This will ensure that only one person will have to dodge Landslide at a time. If someone does not move fast enough, this will push the player off of the platform to their death. If this ends up being a problem, Titan should be moved so the tank's back is to the cliff. This will allow you to get hit by the knockback without dying, but the healing could end up being an issue, as Landslide deals considerable damage. Ideally, this should always be dodged.

Another ability you need to be aware of is Geocrush. Twice in phase 1, Titan will leap into the air, disappearing for a few seconds and leaving a ground indicator around the edge of the area. When Titan comes crashing down in the middle, he will deal more damage to players the closer they are to the middle of the platform. To avoid taking high damage, stand near the red indicator along the edge of the area, but not in it. The red portion will break off when he slams into the ground.

Finally, throughout the fight, Titan will be using Tumult fairly frequently. This is unavoidable AoE damage that will need to be healed through.

Phase 2 - Titan's Abilities:

  • Tumult - (Instant) An area-wide AoE which deals ~150 damage to each party member.
  • Rock Buster - (Instant) A melee strike used on Titan's target, dealing ~450 damage.
  • Landslide - Targets a random player with a frontal column. Any player in the column after a few seconds will take heavy damage and be knocked back.
  • Rock Throw - (Instant) Chooses a random player and places this symbol below their feet. A few seconds later, this player will be pinned under a pile of stone and unable to take any actions.
  • Earthen Fury - (Instant) Titan unleashed a high damage AoE, dealing ~600-700 damage to all players.

After the 2nd Geocrush, Titan's Heart will become exposed and Titan will no longer be targetable. Phase 2 will last until his heart is killed. While Titan will lose access to the Geocrush ability for the rest of the fight, he will gain the ability Rock Throw. This ability will choose a random player and place this icon below their feet. A few seconds later, a Granite Gaol will spawn around the player, pinning them down and preventing any actions from being taken. The DPS need to break this as soon as possible. Titan will continue to use Tumult, Rock Buster, and Landslide as well throughout this phase.

Once Titan's heart dies, he becomes furious and unleashes Earthen Fury, dealing ~600 damage to the entire party. This will trigger the start of Phase 3.

Phase 3 - Titan's Abilities:

  • Tumult - (Instant) An area-wide AoE which deals ~150 damage to each party member.

  • Rock Throw - (Instant) Chooses a random player and places this symbol below their feet. A few seconds later, this player will be pinned under a pile of stone and unable to take any actions.
  • Weight of the Land - Places a sand trap under two players, dealing ~500 damage a few seconds later.

Phase 3 will add another ability to Titan's toolbox: Weight of the Land. This will create sand traps below two players and, after a few seconds, exploding them for ~500 damage. These are rather difficult to move out of quick enough, but it is always worth trying. You should also never be stacked up, otherwise you run the risk of a double sand trap, potentially killing youself and the other player. Titan will still be using the Landslide ability, so the best approach is still to keep one player on each side and you will naturally be spread out for Weight of the Land.

In addition to Weight of the Land, Titan will also start casting Tumult twice in a row each time he casts it. Between these two abilities, there will be a lot of damage being dealt to the party. Try to conserve as much MP as possible before you enter this phase to allow you to spam heal.
